The Veterans of Virtue (VOV) takes a holistic approach to suicide prevention, homelessness, and Veteran wellness. We are implementing the mind, body, and soul science system, which addresses individuals in their wholeness: physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being. We are confident the quality of life can change for the veteran, addressing them holistically, which will ultimately reduce the suicide rate amongst veterans while providing tools for self-sustainability and over wellness.
According to a Pentagon report released in Oct 2020, the suicide rate among active-duty troops and veterans increased in 2019. Military officials worry that stress caused by the COVID-19 pandemic may push figures higher in 2021.
Veterans are FOUR times (4x) as likely to have PTSD and commit suicide than those who didn’t serve in the military.
To put it in context, one Veteran dies by suicide every 65 minutes of every day, which is around 20-22 per day, as reported by the Department of Veteran Affairs.
By addressing this pandemic holistically, VOV will be the epicenter of veteran wellness & healing.
