Western medicine for soldiers suffering from health issues and PTSD has not always been a reliable means of healing and rehabilitation. Many anti-depressants and prescriptions cause further health complications like infertility, depression, suicidal ideation, and much more.
Veterans also face barriers to treatment for health issues such as:
- Long wait times to treatment
- Concerns over the mental health treatment offered by the VA
- Logistical problems, such as long travel distances to receive quality care
- The stigma associated with mental health issues
- A lack of understanding about health problems and treatment options
VOV supports justice impacted, suicidal and homeless veterans through holistic wellness that considers the whole individual, mind, body, soul.
